Motoring Legacy Award

 

The Motoring Legacy Award is presented to an individal or company that demonstrates a high level of commitment to ensure Full CCCA Classics remain in driving conditions as originally designed. The award is sponsored by the Upper Midwest Region, Classic Car Club of America. Last Month the Haartz Corporation was awarded The Motoring Legacy Award by the Classic Car Club of America

Classic Car Club of America Education Foundation is Rolling
The CCCA Education Foundation was formally launched on January 15, 2016 at the CCCA Annual Meeting in Detroit. Jay Quail was named as Executive Director of the Foundation and granted Foundation membership to all active CCCA members. The CCCA Education Foundation website, logo and first informational pamphlet were also unveiled to the members in attendance.

2016 Annual Meeting – January 14-17, 2016
The 2016 Annual Meeting took place in Novi, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. We celebrated "Sweet 16s" – the year 2016 and the 16-cylinder automobiles that epitomize the robust engineering competition during the Full Classic® era.

CCCA Museum's 2016 Experience
The CCCA Museum Board of Trustees requests the pleasure of your company this spring  during the 2016 CCCA Museum Experience weekend where fun events include a driving tour, a Grand Classic and the Experience. This year's Experience will celebrate its 30th Anniversary by inviting CCCA cars that have achieved Senior status along with all other CCCA Full Classics®.

2016 Amelia Island
This year the Best of Show Concours d’Elegance was awarded to a stunning 1930 Rolls-Royce Phantom II owned by Helen and Jack Nethercutt from The Nethercutt Collection in Sylmar, California. The Best of Show Concours de Sport award went to a 1952 Pegaso Z-102 presented by the Louwman Museum, The Hague, Netherlands. Congratulations!

Early CCCA History Captured on New England Region DVD
Can you imagine viewing several reels of 8 mm film taken as early as 1956 that has good footage of several Classic Car Club of America early events like Sky Top, Buck Hill Falls and two very early CARavans? Jack Cable, a CCCA member from this early time, has a very good friend Don Ineson who took this footage and transfer it to a digital movie format. Jack and Don are both members of the CCCA and the New England Region.
